How Ayurvedic Products Are Helpful To Control Digestive Disorder

Most of us suffer from some digestive trouble or the other. Indeed, gas, bloating, flatulence, constipation and acidity are common health problems that plague us on a daily basis.  Ayurveda as a holistic medicinal science seeks to treat digestive disorders from their root.

Agni: The Controller of Digestive System

Ayurveda considers a healthy digestive system to be the guiding factor influencing our overall health. Efficient digestion is governed by the various forms of fire or agni, which converts physical matter of food into energy to drive our body and flushes the toxins or ama from the body. A weak agni cannot function effectively to metabolise food into energy. Hence it is important to balance one’s agni, keeping it neither too weak nor too strong.

What to eat ?

Select herbs and natural foods can help balance agni and aid digestion.
Triphala: A potent Ayurvedic Medicine For Acidity containing the three herbs Amalaki, Haritaki ar Bibhitaki, Triphala detoxifies the colon by gently cleansing out the stomach as it acts as a mild laxative. It also helps in efficient absorption of nutrients into body. Jiva Triphala Churna and Triphala Tablets will definitely help you to improve your digestion. Amalaki or Amla, as a separate ingredient, may be ingested in the form of Jiva’s Amla Juice. Amla is also an ingredient comprising Jiva’s Digestol tablets.
Aloe Vera:The anti-inflammatory and laxative properties of Aloe Vera makes it a great digestive agent. Jiva’s Aloe Vera Juice helps normalize acid-alkaline and pH balance, lessens the formation of yeast, encourages the growth of beneficial bacteria in the digestive system and regularises bowel.movements.
Black Pepper: The compound Piperine contained in black pepper stimulates the stomach to produce more hydrochloric acid, thus helping to digest the protein in food. Black pepper is one of the constituting ingredients of Jiva’s Digestol tablet and Digest-All Churna.
Fennel: Traditionally known as a carminative, fennel seeds have also been known to cure chronic constipation. These are one of the ingredients in Digest-All Churna.
Ginger - The traditionally appreciated digestive benefits of ginger have been attested experts. It has been found that ginger tones the muscles of the intestine and helps break down food particles. This root also forms a part of Digestol tablet.

As a holistic approach, Ayurveda focuses not only on what to eat, but also on how to eat. It presses on the importance of the need to sit down and enjoy a meal. It is also said that agni is strongest when the sun is strong, that is between 12 noon and 2 pm, which is why lunch should be the largest meal of the day. Dinner should be modest and sparse as agni is at its weakest during nighttime.
